ORLANDO EARNS #7 BEST PERFORMING LARGE CITY

Orlando jumped two spots in 2017 to land in the #7 position on the Milken Institute’s list of best-performing cities nationwide.

The 2017 Milken Institute Best-Performing Cities Index ranks U.S. metropolitan areas by how well they are creating and sustaining jobs and economic growth. The considerations include job, wage and salary, and technology growth.

The Orlando region (also encompassing Sanford and Kissimmee) performed particularly well in the job and wage growth categories, with employment rising by more the 4 percent from 2015 to 2016 and wages surging by nearly 8 percent from 2014 to 2015.
